Happy 30 Birthday Lake Havasu City
Saturday morning Chelle and I took a Vespa ride down to McCulloch to watch the birthday parade.
We were suprised at how long it was, the parade lasted about 2 and a half hours.
There were two marching bands, several floats, old classic cars and a bunch of dectorated motorcycles.
We sat and clapped and chuckled.  What a perfect day indeed for a little sidewalk viewing and people watching.  Small town parade can still equal big time fun for us.
The classic car cruised down the ave in pristine condition.
Oldies tunes cranking and people cheering.

... and a bicycle built for four.

Stopped for gas and found some history

Thursday after working in LA, I drove back to Havasu taking the southern route on Interstate 10. I took an exit to fill the car's tank and empty mine and stumbled across some exciting history.

I didn't stop to go inside, but may sometime in the future. However, outside near the parking lot is a fenced area full of army artifacts from Patton's era.

There are probably near a dozen assorted tanks and military vehicles in the area outside the museum. I'll have to make a point of visiting the museum one of these days.

Uh-Oh

After being sick on Wednesday from eating bad fish, my immune system must be underpowered 'cause now I feel like I'm catching a cold.

Happy 30th! Eric

Saturday October 11th was Eric's 30th birthday. Celebrating with him were his best friend Brandon and his wife Jill, Chelle and I, and three dogs.

The majority of the time was spent hanging out in the back yard grilling, drinking, and playing in the pool.

Brandon and Eric played several fierce games of badminton and even though it was Eric's birthday Brandon destroyed.

Brandon and Jill's baby Pumpkin had a great time playing with Crockett and Clementine.

Blog from iPhone test

I've been looking for a good application to post blog updates from the
iPhone and then I realized I could use a new application called
Electronic Mail, sometimes refered to as email.
This my first attempt to do so.

"Boating with Bruce" the still photos

My buddy Bruce and I.

Kim and Chelle

We found a great little cove to set up our picnic in.

You can barely see it in this picture but...

That's right! It's a pizza delivery to the boat party in the canal. Now that's service!

This is a new place called Heat. Our friend Carli works here and I guess they are doing there best with the misters to keep the name of the establishment from describing the temperature at the bar.

Cherish's Chest

Chelle must have known we were having a girl since she picked this out the day before the Ultrasound. The outfits that Aunt Sivje make for her will look great in these drawers! ;-)

Cherish's 19 week Ultrasound

This is from Thursday's doctor appointment.

Ventura, CA

This last week we spent a few days in Ventura, CA. I had a few meetings in Camarillo so we got on Priceline and found a little respite in Ventura. After work Chelle and I did a walk about town and did a little shopping. We were excited to because Thursday morning we were going to learn the gender of our child.

Best view in town. Especially since it's the only window.
A visit to Phoenix

Chelle and Chris

Last weekend... Chelle and I went to Phoenix to visit friends and family and take a look around. You see, we've been considering making a move to Arizona to get out of the rat race of Los Angeles and live in a state where the cost of living is a bit more realistic. Especially in light of the fact that we are having a baby soon!

Kim and Brian

While there Chris took us out to the Wild Fish. Friends Brian and his lovely wife Kim came out to meet up with us. I love Brian like a brother. We traveled the world together many moons ago in a little rock band. Who knows we may do a little more traveling again soon...

We had a great weekend. It was awesome to see Brian and Kim, and Chris, Mary and Jackson. I'm sorry we didn't get a photograph of Mary and Jackson. We will next time.

Monday July 26th

Monday started with a big breakfast at the Apple Cellar.

Followed by shopping in downtown Ashland. Ashland is not very big so this didn't take long, but it was still fun to see how the city has changed since I was a kid, but has also stayed very much a small town.

Ashland is home to a very successful Shakespearean festival. We were lucky that when we got up the hill to walk the grounds the stage door was open We got to peak in and see the auditorium without having to sit through a play. (sorry Shakespeare is not my thing.)

Monday at 2:00 is Random Sound's rehearsal time so we got to sit in and listen. I was blown away at how talented my nephew Cole is. He is 12 years old and plays drums in the band.

They have only been together for a short time in this line up, but have already done paying gigs.

While they practiced upstairs, Garin, India and I played RockBand.

India and Garin were good, but I should probably stay behind the drum kit while performing music of any type.

At this point I had already lost so might as well mug for the camera.

After giving the young ones a chance to warm up, we went back upstairs to be treated to a few songs.

Then it was their turn at RockBand.

That evening we packed another picnic for the park, but this time it was a for a ballet.

Kai and Jackson saw a deer and walked right up to it.

What's worse than one cousin stuck in a tree... two cousins stuck in a tree. Ok, they weren't stuck.

When we were young we used to love to play in this creek. Chelle had to check it out and she agreed it was a blast!

Tuesday morning, Chelle and I loaded back into the car with mom and dad and drove back to their place in Sparks Nevada. But before going to the airport to fly home to California we went by their place to check out the deck my dad built for the back of their home.

It is AWESOME! My dad did a great job. I want him to come to our place and put his skills to work for our home. Their house looks so nice.
