The Fantastic Dr. Loo

This afternoon we met with the cardiologist, Dr. Loo. The man is a saint. He spent a little over two hours with us. We feel very blessed to have such talented doctors assisting us with this ordeal. Unfortunately, the news that Dr. Loo shared with us after spending an hour looking at our baby boy's heart was not very pleasant. It's his professional opinion that our son's heart is badly enough damaged that surviving the next two months in the womb is unlikely. If he does make it through the delivery, the chances of him having a long life (a few weeks or months) are extremely slim. Mind you, this is dependant upon the advanced Amnio test results still coming back showing no chromosomal defects. Which is still something the doctors doubt will happen.

Chelle and I realize that this is an emotional roller coaster, and are trying to remain grounded in our faith. This is challenging to say the least. We will continue to trust in God and allow him to be in control of this. We truly are powerless. We have no choice but to rely on Him.

Once again, we can't thank you enough for all the prayers and words of encouragement. They mean more than you probably realize.

Dear Christian, Chelle and Baby Bird,
We continue to pray for all of you. We believe that Baby Bird is going to make it and do just great! I am so sorry the news was not encouraging today. But I am so grateful you are in good hands. I am sending you a big hug!

I love you all very much! Ahnalin prayed again tonight for Baby "Oscar" to get well from his broken heart. I asked her why she called him Oscar and she told me it was a nice name! Heehee! Uh......I am not thinking Oscar was a name you had chosen but Ahnalin thinks so. She also kissed the ultrasound picture I have on my desktop.

I love Baby Oscar...has a nice ring to it! You must be exhausted after all of yesterday's activities. I hope you can go for a long walk or just kick back in your new home and relax. If I were there, I'd do my best John Travolata Urban Cowboy "angry" dance just to make you giggle! Give your bump a hug for me.

As we pray for help, God provides us with patience that reflects His love. . . . even during frustrating circumstances.
We continue to pray for your little lad. We also ask God to watch over mom and dad, and give them comfort. Hang in there Christian and Chelle.

I believe the reason Dr. Loo spent so much time with you is because he could see how special you both are and how much you love your baby boy. We are so proud to be your parents. Giant mountains of love to all 3 of you. Mom and Dad

Although I do not know you I am praying for you. I read your info on Tammi V's myspace blog. I pray you the peace of an all knowing, unwavering GOD. "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7.
