Catching up

First Post in a over two weeks and a lot has gone on. To start with right before Chelle went home to MN, we had a visit from Stella and John (aka. Muffin) as they had a full day layover in LA before continuing their return to Australia. Chelle picked them up from LAX and brought them to our place. They went for a walk around the canals of Naples and when I returned from work we all went to Parkers Lighthouse on the waterfront for dinner.

Then Chelle went home to MN to visit family and attend her college reunion. I'll hand the keyboard over to her to describe her trip.

Gram Shaffer came down to surprise me - She's quite a Rock Star for nearly 87 years old!!!! Too bad she isn't nearly as photogenic as one....heehee!

Sweet Auntie Laurie brought Grammy down with her so we could have some cuddles and catch up time too. It sure is cool how much family we can cram into just a few days~ way to go Shaffer/Patterson Clan!!!

Baby Ty is walking like a champ! I barely made it in time to sneak him kisses before his 1st birthday. Sure do love you little guy!

And here is another little one - Connor turned 1 year on Oct. 10th. We thought he could be a fourth gen. Oct. 11th baby (My Gram Patterson, Katie's mom, Doris, my little bro, Eric are all the 11th) but Connor has a day all to himself! So glad I could be there to celebrate it with them. It is still really hard for me to believe that Kate, who was "my baby" now has her own baby - and he's ONE!!!! Must mean that my Auntie Dode is getting old :) ps - Happy Birthday to you too sweet Auntie!!! XXOO

This past weekend we went to Autin to celebrate our two year anniversary with Jono and Jayme. It was WONDERFUL~ Dear friends, great weather, super food and lots of love always make for a good time! we did our part to "keep Austin weird" as those "hook 'em horns" cowboys say 'round those parts!

We even got to see our old house mate Luke who moved to Austin two years ago. Luke is doing extremely well pursuing his music career and seems very happy! He even showed off his new addition - the Lady Cheren.

Visit to the Reagan Library

My father is a Reagan fan. To date he has read 65 books on the man and his presidency. This was dad's third time to the library, still that didn't quench his enthusiasm for sharing it with us.

The highlight of the library has to be the Air Force One on display. Tail number 2700 had served 8 presidents, but the Reagan library was given the pleasure of displaying it.

It is much smaller inside then one would think. Really doesn't feel as big as some of the tour busses on our roads today. However, it is real amazing to be inside the jet that carried 8 presidents and to think that some major world decisions were made in it.

There was also the presidential limo, some secret services vehicles and a version of Marine One on display.

Neither Chelle nor I are big into politics, but you couldn't help be impressed by the life the man lead and even more so with the love that he and Nancy seemed to share.

My Niece the Thespian

India Parish (actress)

India is a star! Friday the 29th was opening nite for "And Then They Came For Me" at the Foot Hill Theater in Nevada City, CA. The play is based on testimonial from two holocaust survivors. It was really great to see India performing. She was so great!

We also celebrated India's 15th birthday. It was actually on Monday the 25th, but we were happy to wish her happy birthday while we are all together as a family.

Ahnalin is growing up fast. We had a great time playing jax and chasing each other around the kitchen. She is a real cutie.

Saturday we all bar-b-qued on the back Patio. Don's parents Ralph and Lynn were very gracious host. They allow us to invade their beautiful home every time we visit. We are very blessed to have a great family as well as a great extended family.

Mom and Dad Crowe drove back with Chelle and I to our home. and will be staying with us all week. We are looking forward to spending more time with them. Dad has big plans to visit the Seal Training grounds near San Diego and the Reagan Ranch and Library in Simi Valley. I will try to get photos of that to post.

Boating through Naples

Saturday afternoon our new friends and neighbors Ron and Dina took us for a boat ride around Naples. Donna had been visiting since Thursday and Brian McSweeney was in Los Angeles for some song writing apppointments and a concert, so he came down to the LBC to visit for the weekend. We had such an amazing time! The weather was fantastic and the company was great. Ron and Dina live on the fourth floor of the Portofino facing the harbor. After the cruising through the canals of Naples for a few hours we went up to their condo for a barbque.

Brian, Donna and Chelle at the pool.

It was a great day and we were so delighted to be able to share it with Donna and Brian. Next time we will have to get the rest of Donna's and Brian's families down here to play with us.

Ron and Dina are great new friends. The boat that they have is called a Duffy. It's an electric boat with a canopy. It's the perfect boat for cruising around the canals of Naples Island. Chelle and I could get used to this. If we are not careful, we will never move and stay here forever.

Bright Red Carpet Video

I stumbled across a website that has our one and only music video. It was shot in 1997 and is very low budget, but if you haven't seen it, take a look.

If that link doesn't work, try going here. LINK

It's ok, i can't read it either.

Here's a site from the Faroe Islands saying something about our show.

Puppy Class - Day 1

Tonight was the first of 8 weeks of classes for our babies. It was a rather small group, but it was only wiener dogs. We had 6 dogs in our class. Crockett and Clementine did great! Tonight we learned how to use the clicker and the phrase "Watch me". We are very excited for our puppies to become as perfect as Chelle and myself. ;-)

BTW. Doesn't Chelle look adorable with her new red hair. Yes, she does.

The Final Days of the Tour

Friday morning we woke up early and checked out of our hotel in London and took a cab to Stanstead airport. There we boarded a plane to the Faroe Islands. It was a longer flight then one would expect. We finally arrived at around 6pm ish. Once we arrived, we ended up having to walk to our hotel (the car that picked us up was only big enough to carry our luggage and equipment.)...Doesn't that just seem to figure - so this trip seems to go :)

It's a good thing that our hotel was only about 500 feet from the airport.
Once checked in we had dinner and a shower and then headed to the venue.

The ride to the venue was only about an hour away. The most interesting part of yet another car ride, was that we were able to excursion through two tunnels under the ocean to finally end at the Faroe Island that we were to play on.

The scene we finally beheld was extremely cool! We were set up at the base of a mountain with a water fall actually going under the stage. Really, something to be seen to believe!
It is circustances like this that make such horriffic travelling situations worth the while - well that and all the hot young blonde chicks!!! tee hee (chelle wrote this :)

I wish I had given my camera to someone to take proper pictures of us rockin. I did take some photos during soundcheck. It was a great show! We didn't actually go on stage until about 2:ooam. Did I mention that it was a great show??!!
The crowd knew our songs and sang alone with surprising enthusiasm. Did I also mention that we are tired, sick, and tired, and sick, and that it was really a great show??!!! It really, truly was a wonderful show!!!

After that performance, we were driven back to the hotel by the airport, where we quickly slept two hours. We woke and headed to the airport at 6:30am. We got back on our final jet of the tour headed back to Heathrow airport.

Once we were back in Jolly Ol' England, we got back in another van and were driven to the site of the Greenbelt Festival another 2 hours away.

At this point we were definitely exhausted. We got to the venue an hour before we played. Even though we were all very tired, the show went well! We had a great turnout and the crowd once again, encouraged us to give it our all...and we did!

We had decided to do this tour from the beginning to encourage future bookings in Europe or other intresting places of travel - thus far, we have been invited to Festivals in both Scotland and Germany. Hopefully, we are able to continue our success in enjoying oneanother's company at the very least once a year and I get to bang the drums and feed my musical soul as well as the mouth's of my wonderful family....what better life could there be than to know that you have friends, family, music and travel in your life at all times!

All in all it was a great tour! I know that all involved had a great time. We look forward to a good long rest, but it won't be long until we are anxious to get back on stage again.

I will try to update this site with new info regarding bookings and record sales. Please check back often to keep up to date with the ongoings of Christian and Chelle Crowe as well as All Star United.

God Bless,
